Friday February 3rd - ArtWalk

We all love art, especially at the Treehouse.  All of our artists make unique, handmade, one of a kind items.  This month we are featuring Norma Gafford and her amazing metal jewelry and wall art.  Come meet Norma and enjoy a slice of cake and punch to celebrate Gus turning 6.  Who is Gus you ask?  Corpus Gus was actually created by one of my co-owners of the Treehouse, Ellen Fehrenkamp.  She created Gus to show pride for Corpus Christi and Texas; and Gus was later adopted as a mascot for “Pride Corpus Christi”.  Ellen has also created several friends for Gus, “Flora from the Island” a blue Kemps Ridley turtle; “Portland Patty” a white pelican from Portland, TX; “Texas Rowdy” a mockingbird who lives all over the state; and “Penny Plover” a piping plover who is now with the City’s Parks and Recreation Dept.  Gus and his friends can all be seen at the Treehouse.  There are two other little known friends, “Sammay” a cardinal at Smith Middle School in Sinton and “Chinky” a red fox at Welder Elementary School in Sinton.  See you at the Treehouse.
